Submitting an Initial Application (IA)

To enroll in the program, interested parties must submit both an Initial Application and a Final Application. The Initial Application requires less detailed project information than the Final Application, and it allows applicants to reserve funding for a limited time.

The Initial Application requests the following:

• Identification of the Customer and the PSO customer site or sites
• Description of the proposed set of energy efficiency measures and the associated expected incentive amount
• A brief work plan for project design, implementation , operation, management, and the anticipated timeline
• A refundable security deposit or letter of credit equal to 5% of the expected incentive amount or $500, whichever amount is greater. Customers may submit the deposit with the Final Application.
• A security deposit must be received by PSO within 20 business days from the IA approval.

Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis until all incentive funding is committed. Once PSO provides feedback on the project and reserves funding for the expected incentive payment (typically, within 15 business days), the applicant can begin to work out the details of the project, which are required in the Final Application. The Final Application must be submitted within 15 business days of the Initial Application's approval; otherwise, PSO may release the funds that had been reserved for the project.
