AEP Wants You to Know About Energy Efficiency!

Commercial and Industrial Standard Offer Program
Service providers receive incentive payments for installing measures that reduce peak demand and save energy in commercial or industrial facilities with a maximum demand of at least 100 kW.
Residential and Small Commercial Standard Offer Program
Service providers receive incentives for installing measures that reduce peak demand and/or save energy for residential customers and commercial customers whose maximum demand does not exceed 100 kW.
Hard-to-Reach Standard Offer Program
This program encourages energy efficiency improvements in households with annual incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty guideline.
Load Management Standard Offer Program

Service providers receive incentives for load interruptions, on short notice, during peak demand periods, at facilities with a maximum demand of at least 500 kW. Customers must have an IDR meter and each Project Site must be capable of providing demand savings of at least 100 kW.

ENERGY STAR Homes

The AEP Texas Central ENERGY STAR Homes Program is intended to increase the construction and sale of ENERGY STAR labeled homes within the AEP TCC service area in order to reduce energy demand and provide utility bill savings for consumers. The AEP TCC ENERGY STAR Homes Program encourages builders to improve the energy efficiency of new homes through the use of advanced building materials and techniques. AEP is committed to helping builders achieve ENERGY STAR standards in new home construction through financial incentives and technical support and training.

Low Income Program

   
  • The law passed by the Texas Legislature restructuring the state's electricity industry gave utilities certain energy efficiency goals to meet.
  • As a result, most electric utilities in Texas are providing incentives to energy efficiency service contractors for installation of certain energy efficiency measures that result in electricity savings.
  • Work can be done at homes and businesses within a utility's service area.
  • AEP has contracts with national and local firms who may contact you about performing work to help save energy and reduce your electric bill.
  • You decide what equipment will be installed and you choose what work the contractor you select will do.
  • You and your contractor determine price, warranty and other issues.

As a consumer:

  • Be sure you understand the terms of any agreement before signing and know how much you will pay.
  • Request a copy of all paperwork.
  • You have 72 hours (3 days) to cancel any agreement (called Right of Rescission period).
  • Ask for an "All Bills Paid Affidavit" if a subcontractor is used.
  • An AEP representative may contact you to verify the work was done.
